PDC's partnering, licensed, medical insurance agents and underwriters, who represent top-rated health insurance companies, can offer the following to qualified groups:

·          Limited Medical Insurance

Limited benefit plans are not comprehensive major medical insurance.  They are designed to help people take care of everyday medical expenses like doctor visits, diagnostic tests and emergency room visits.  Most plans also have a fixed per day payment for hospitalization (typically $200 to $500 per day). These plans include wellness and illness benefits (typically $50 to $65 per visit). Finding a health problem and getting treatment early can often eliminate the need for more costly treatment later when a condition becomes serious – and expensive. Adding the separate, PDC medical discount programs to limited medical insurance can reduce the medical bill, so that the fixed benefit payment goes farther.

·          High Deductible Health Plans

High Deductible Health Plans (HDHP) are comprehensive major medical insurance, but as the name implies, there is a high deductible in the range of $5,000 before any benefits are paid. This type of plan provides catastrophic protection in the case of a major accident or illness. Because the HDHP does not pay for routine medical expenses before the deductible limit is met, the high deductible policy may cost 20% to 40% less than traditional major medical policies.  Adding the separate, PDC medical discount programs to a high deductible health plan can reduce out of pocket expenses.

·          Health Savings Accounts

Health Savings Accounts (HSA) work well with a  “qualifying" high deductible health plans as the HDHP above.  The HSA is a special tax-deferred savings account dedicated to health care expenses. This companion health savings account is used to pay, on a pre-tax basis, regular medical expenses which do not exceed the deductible.  Adding the separate, PDC medical discount programs to the HSA can reduce the amount that a members must withdraw from their HSA to pay the out of pocket expenses occurring before the high deductible deductible limit is met.

These optional and separate insurance plans complement PDC's basic Medical Discount Card, Lab Work Discount Program, and Patient Advocacy.  For more insurance information, call the number below to have an licensed health insurance agent provide benefit details and pricing.
